COMMISSIONS, ON THE TEAM PLAN

Pay your reps on what clients actually paid.

Commission tracking software for small sales teams. One commission plan, a rep on every deal, and commission earned when the invoice is paid through your Stripe, not when the contract is signed. Refunds claw it back in proportion. You close each pay period and mark it paid. Team plan, $19 per seat per month.

HOW IT WORKS

From signed to paid out, in five steps.

01

Set the plan

One commission plan for the workspace: a flat or tiered rate, paid on cash collected or on booking, with the clawback rule you choose. Give any rep their own rate when they need one.

02

Put a rep on the deal

Each contract carries its rep, and optionally a coach who earns an override on it. Deals already running in Stripe can be imported and assigned too.

03

The client pays through your Stripe

One-off invoices, instalments and subscriptions all count. The money lands in your own Stripe account. LetSign never holds it.

04

LetSign reconciles against the money that arrived

Every paid invoice, refund and dispute is read back from Stripe, on each webhook and again nightly, and the open period is recomputed. Nothing is typed in by hand.

05

Close the period and mark it paid

Pay periods run in a chain. You pay the oldest open one, its numbers freeze, and any later correction lands as an adjustment in the next period.

The signing and payment side is covered in how to get paid from an AI agent's deal, and the Stripe connection in the Stripe integration guide.

WHAT IS IN IT

A commission tracker built for teams under twenty.

Commission plans

Flat or tiered rates, caps and floors, spiffs, a draw against commission, and a hurdle that carries a negative balance forward. Every change is a new version, so history never moves.

Attribution

One rep per deal, plus a coach who earns an override. Reassign a deal and the open period recomputes once.

Pay periods and statements

A chained calendar of periods with net totals per rep. Each statement lists the line items with the proposal and the Stripe reference behind them.

Clawbacks and adjustments

Refunds and churn claw back under the rule in the plan: proportional, cliff, linear, staggered or none. Post a bonus, a correction or a waiver as a signed adjustment.

Churn exceptions

A deal that churned because a card failed is flagged for review, apart from a client who chose to leave. Waive that clawback in one step.

Reps see their own deals

A rep logs in to their workspaces and sees their own proposals and earnings only. Their agent sees the same.

WORKED EXAMPLE

Commission, stated plainly.

A made-up plan at 10% on cash collected, with proportional clawback. The commission tracking spreadsheet this replaces had three tabs and a formula nobody trusted.

MONTHWHAT HAPPENEDCOMMISSION
SeptemberClient signs a $12,000 retainer and pays the first $6,000 instalment through LetSign$600 earned
OctoberSecond $6,000 instalment paid$600 earned
NovemberYou refund $2,000 of the second instalment$200 clawed back
Net$1,000 over three periods

On a booked basis the full $1,200 is earned in September and the refund still claws back $200 in November. Deals in another currency are converted into your payout currency at month-end rates.

AGENTS CAN RUN IT

Close the month from one conversation.

PROMPT

"Show me September's commission by rep, then mark the period paid."

Every commission action is an MCP tool: read the plan, assign reps, post an adjustment, waive a clawback, list the periods, mark one paid. Install LetSign in one click from Claude or Codex and your agent has all of them. See the MCP server page.

THE CONFIRM GATE
Money moves only when you say so.

Marking a period paid, changing the plan and waiving a clawback all ask for an explicit confirmation. The agent prepares the numbers. You confirm them.

THE PLAN

On Team, with no LetSign fee.

Commission plans and payouts are part of the Team plan at $19 per seat per month. A seat is one person on your team with a LetSign login, so each rep is a seat; clients and signers never are. Team also pays no LetSign fee on invoices paid through LetSign. Start on Free, add your first rep, then switch in Settings > Billing. The full rules are on the pricing page.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When is commission earned?

By default, when the client's invoice is paid through LetSign into your Stripe account, in the pay period the payment lands. If you prefer to pay on booking, set the plan's basis to booked and commission is earned when the deal is signed, with the same clawback rules on refunds.

What happens on a refund or a dispute?

LetSign reads the refund or dispute from Stripe and claws the commission back under the rule in your plan. A partial refund claws back the matching share. If that period is already paid, the clawback lands as an adjustment in the next open period.

Can a manager earn an override?

Yes. Set a rep's coach and the coach earns an override on that rep's future deals at the rate the plan sets. You can also name a different override earner on any single deal.

Can I change the plan mid-month?

Yes. Saving the plan creates a new version effective from now. The open period recomputes and history is never rewritten. The one thing that cannot change once a period has been paid is the payout currency.

What do reps see?

Only their own workspaces, their own proposals and their own earnings statement. An agent working for a rep sees the same, and no more.

What if I leave the Team plan?

Moving to Free or Starter takes effect at the end of the month you paid for. Your commission data stays readable but locked, and nothing is deleted.

Pay your reps right, every period.

Start free, send your first proposals, and switch to Team the day you add a rep. Let your agents close the deal. LetSign keeps the commission ledger straight.
